Cuba’s Pichardo Dominates Triple Jump

Cuban Pedro Pablo Pichardo won the XVII Pan Am Games men’s triple jump with a result of 17.54 m Friday, July 24.

Pichardo is in the middle of a record-breaking season, including jumps over 18 m. On Friday in Toronto he dominated the competition, clearing well over 17 m.

The men’s triple jump silver went to Bahamian Leevan Sands, with 16.99 m, while Pichardo’s teammate Ernesto Revé made bronze with 16.94.
